We had our first meeting of the 2018-19 season! We gathered to eat some good food and watch the Rover Ruckus reveal. After watching the reveal, we the headed to the chalkboard. After a few hours of brainstorming, we agreed upon an initial design to work towards for the first qualifier (see Fig. 1). We also ran into some initial design problems including maneuvering over the crater and differentiating between the yellow and silver colors of the minerals. This design included shape sensors, color sensors, a lift system, broom-like intake system, and 203mm mecanum wheels. Our next step is to CAD these initial designs and begin performing tests for the autonomous period.
