We begin each season brainstorming potential solutions to the game challenge. After lots of drawings on chalkboard and big group and small group discussions, we agree on some preliminary designs. Next, we CAD our designs using Autodesk's Fusion 360 and build some basic prototypes. After CADing and prototyping, we order the parts and begin building and coding! From there, we test and troubleshoot and test and trouble shoot again...until we run into a roadblock and must re-brainstorm a new design. It's a process we've refined over the years!
CAD - Fusion 360
We have found using a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program to visualize our ideas to be extremely helpful. We CAD all of our designs in the Autodesk Platform, Fusion 360. We highly recommend Fusion 360 as it is a very collaborative environment and mimics programs like Solidworks which are used in the real-world industry and research.
